Overview of Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS)

Depression Treatment with TMS
TMS Therapy is used to treat depression that has not responded to adequate medication treatment with antidepressants.
During TMS treatment, the TMS coil is placed on a patient's scalp to deliver pulses to brain regions responsible for mood regulation. In depression, these brain areas tend to have decreased activity. The pulses delivered through the TMS coil stimulate these brain areas to ease depressive symptoms.
